Winsome Co.

THE BRIEF
Winsome Co. is an independent creative consultancy based in The Woodlands, Texas. Their founder Mike Sims approached me to help him rebrand his new agency with a design that encapsulated the culture of community and meaningful human connection that Winsome Co embodies.

The design would need to revolve around themes of connection and attraction.

THE SOLUTION
I explored a lot of concepts around magnets and magnetic field lines to represent attraction, only to find out quickly that the nature of field lines requires many of them used together in order to resemble them properly. This led to a far too detailed logo. I worked up a number of abstract concepts in a number of design styles, before I hit the realisation that the design for an electro-magnet and the solenoid could be used to form the shape of a W for Winsome.

From there it was a case of refining the style to suit the inspirations from Mike’s original brief; symmetrical, monoline and flowing with a sense of movement.
