During my stint at Bauer Media, I was tasked with the redesign of the careers website Go Think Big. The site had a really strong brand, backed up by excellent illustrations and a really fun style, which was an excellent starting point. The aim was to try and keep this branding prevalent in the new design, yet try to improve the user journey, and increase sign-ups to the site. This was one of the biggest projects I worked on, and I worked closely with a great backend developer, who was adept with WordPress.
The new site featured some very major changes, including a completely new header section (with search), carousel-style homepage, bite-sized stories, a new video section, competitions and a revised layout to the opportunities and partners sections. All the while pushing social engagement, creating a sense of urgency with the closing opportunities and working well on mobile. In total, I worked up 13 completely new page templates; a very challenging and time-consuming brief, I’m sure you’ll agree.
