Honda’s new Type R smashed the front wheel drive record at the notorious Nürburgring in Germany – aka the Green Hell – with a lap time of 7:50:63. To celebrate this, and the launch of the new car, Honda required a microsite to showcase the car and its features, as well as details for a competition to win one. I designed the microsite while on a placement at creative agency Karmarama, whose fantastic UX lead Simon Coxon came up with the framework.

I had the pleasure of, once again, working with Andy Styles, who developed the site and worked his magic on the interactive map element. The website also features a few subliminal glitches to match the style of the promotional video that accompanied the campaign. I created the glitches as half-second animated gifs, which Andy loaded in using javascript randomly throughout the site.
